Familiarization: Find the following countries on the maps provided and list their relative location (location in relation to other countries, landmarks, oceans). Also identify if they are Axis or Allies. Ex: Canada is located north of the U.S. and fought for the Allies.
Analysis: Below is a map of the Axis powers and their territories in 1942. What would a map of the Axis powers and their occupied territories look like at the beginning of WWII in late Sept 1939? Think about pacts/treaties and events at the beginning of the war. What happened between Sept 1939 and 1942 to make the map look this way?
Using the Course Blog, answer the following prompt. "Based on what you learned in Task #1, what are the geographic advantages and disadvantages of each these countries in regard to World War Two?" Think about access to allies, resources, transport routes, etc. Respond to at least two other student postings.
